How the TrainGuard System Works

TrainGuard is a ground-based vehicle arresting system positioned at high-speed rail grade crossings. The system remains stowed below grade during normal roadway operation and deploys automatically when crossing activation sequences begin.

Step 1: Rail Signal Activation Triggers Deployment

When crossing detection systems activate, TrainGuard deploys its arresting net assembly across the roadway in coordination with gates and signal preemption.

Step 2: Physical Track-Zone Barrier Is Established

The deployed net forms a physical barrier at the crossing threshold, preventing vehicles from entering the track zone during active rail events.

Step 3: Vehicle Intrusion Is Arrested if Contact Occurs

If a vehicle attempts to bypass gates or enter the crossing after activation, the energy-absorbing ribbons and containment net engage progressively to manage vehicle momentum within the roadway approach.

Step 4: System Resets After Event Clearance

Once the train clears the crossing, the system retracts and restores the roadway to normal operation. Traffic flow resumes smoothly in under 30 seconds, minimizing delay while maintaining full control and safety.
